WHEN WHEAT CAN BE AN ENEMY

Difficult to digest – both literally and figuratively. That wheat, the base of the bread we eat, can cause medical problems. For centuries bread has been the staple food of people. Did our ancestors suffer when they consumed wheat ? Probably they did, but their malady may not have been diagnosed as due to consumption of wheat. With the leaps and bounds of progress being made in the medical world, new discoveries erupt daily, and one very important one, is how the consumption of wheat or wheat-related products can adversely affect the human body. Given below are some of the Wheat Intolerance Symptoms which a person may experience.

The symptoms of wheat intolerance mainly occur after meals. The person may feel a bit under the weather, and suffer from constipation. Wheat sensitivity can appear in the form of a stomach ache. It can cause flatulence. Diarrhea is sometimes experienced. Also skin problems like hives, itching, etc. Conversely, a person may experience Wheat Allergy Symptoms which can cause nausea and require medication to control.

Wheat intolerance is a condition not suffered by everyone. People who do suffer from wheat intolerance, when they eat wheat products, the following occurs. Zonulin, a chemical is released in the digestive system. This chemical allows the toxins to travel freely into the blood stream, from the intestine, causing various medical problems. Wheat has a natural protein called Gluten. This gluten causes similar problems to wheat intolerance. In fact, wheat sensitivity can be attributed to gluten intolerance. Other grains also contain gluten, and if the person suffering from wheat intolerance consumes such grains, the gluten protein in the grain, will cause similar medical problems.

Since many of the food items we eat contain wheat, an individual can develop wheat intolerance symptoms. Items like bread, pasta, crackers, cereals, etc. all contain wheat. To avoid wheat sensitivity, the best thing to do would be to avoid all such foods. Especially if one is prone to such intolerance. If you are able to abstain from eating food which contains wheat, the discomfort and problems caused, immediately disappear within a couple of days. Besides avoidance of stomach pains, flatulence, constipation, etc., refraining from including wheat in your diet, will also help in a positive way. It can generate a feeling of total well being. Aging is slowed down, as also the appearance of wrinkles. The skin look healthier, and some weight loss may be experienced.
